We have been so busy recently that the blog has sat languishing for a whole month but we have good reason. Super-charged with enthusiasm, we have been busy sourcing new books, finding new lovely illustrators and setting up shop at local fairs and festivals.
First up we went along to the Goose Green Festival in East Dulwich on the 10th May which is one that we often take the children to because it is a tonne of fun. It was our turn to be shopkeeper and we were really pleased to make some new friends, put smiles on children's faces and get feedback on what people love and want more of. If you were there we salute you for being such a welcoming and cheery bunch! We sold out of some titles which was really great and we were left with less than a week to restock for the Happynest Fair in Streatham. Eeek!
Happynest was held in the Tate library on Streatham High Street and we were particularly excited as it was their first time on the fair scene. Combining brilliant decor with a nice bunch of creative stalls and kid's entertainment, Happynest was a big success for us as we met some new customers and made some possible contacts for future Smallprint projects...hush hush top secret!
Meeting people is half the fun of selling, and being online just doesn't cut the mustard so we are committed to bring our bookshop to the people in any way that we can. Watch his space for news of storytelling events and mobile libraries and SE Londoners can keep the 4th July free for some Blythe Hill Fields festival fun! Check back soon for our new events page and keep up to date with all that we have planned.
Thanks a lot for the article.Much thanks again. Awesome. Cormican
Oooh…..love the website and all of the books, look fab. I am a but of a ‘look and feel’ book buyer so if u manage a little one-off shopping day at a local play session or cafe b4 the Blythe Hill day, would love to know. (Although honesty have seen far too many books on yr site that I want so maybe my purse need to wait until July!!).
